Unleash your creativity in the Discovery Center's vibrant art studio! Each week during Discovery Design Time, an interactive, hands-on program, children and families are invited to explore a variety of art and design activities suitable for all skill levels. Participants experiment with a wide range of materials — paint, fabric, clay, and more — while discovering the artists, art history, and design principles behind each technique.
With guidance from art educators, guests learn about the artists and movements that inspired each activity, building a foundation in art history alongside hands-on skill-building. Sessions might have you painting a canvas, designing a sculpture, or exploring a mixed-media project — and while many sessions send you home with a unique creation, others focus on building foundational art skills and techniques to carry into future projects.
This experience is included with general admission, come explore, learn, and let's create together!
