Arts in April celebrates the diversity of Tennessee through performing and visual arts. This event allows visitors young and old to experience the arts through the cultural lens of local artists who share their unique heritage with performances and hands-on activities. Performances and activities invite meaningful participation and engage all audiences in community life and multicultural arts, regardless of age, income, background, or ability.
Special activities:
STEM activities with Nashville Public Television and Janet Ivey, host of Janet’s Planet! Kids ages of all ages will have a blast learning about the amazing power of the sun with Janet. Families will discover how to make solar-flare art and how to turn a pizza box into a solar oven! 11 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Pottery demonstrations with Kaitlin Savage

Spoken word with Free Fyre
Music by Seven Times Smooth
Poetry, storytime and art activities throughout the day
About Seven Times Smooth: Based in Nashville, Seven Times Smooth is a group of active touring musicians from all over the Middle Tennessee area. They incorporate Jazz, Swing, Bossa, and more for an energetic and entertaining show!
