GSK Science in the Summer

Join us for a special hands-on program for your 2nd through 6th grader…

Do you want to learn to Be a Biologist? GSK Science in the Summer™ is a FREE, and FUN, science education program that helps elementary school children “grow into science.” Through classes held at Discovery Center and other community-based organizations, the program gets kids excited about learning science with hands-on experiments.

Grades: 2nd - 6th

Cost: Free (2-hr session)

Capacity: Sessions are limited to 25 children.

Where: Discovery Center. While sessions are held at the Discovery Center, the museum will not be open for exploration.

Hour #1: Be a Fisheries Biologist

During the first hour, children will explore sampling and explore how biologists detect changes in an environment when there are too many things to count.

Hour #2: Be a Wildlife Biologist

During the second hour, children will: learn about wildlife biologists and help solve a problem experienced by a fictional nature preserve.

GSK Science in the Summer is a national program supported by GSK in partnership with the Franklin Institute and administered through Discovery Center.
